How To Buy Christmas Presents Online

With the seasonal rush in the shops, more and more people are taking the opportunity to buy their Christmas presents online.

This can be a great idea – you get a much wider choice of potential presents online and often the price is better than buying locally.

Bear in mind that you need to take into account postage and packing when you are checking the price. Sometimes you can get a deal on postage if your Christmas present order comes to more than a certain value. You may need to get your calculator out – it may work out cheaper overall to get your gifts from one or two websites, even if some of their prices for individual items are slightly higher, once you take into account the carriage costs.

Choosing your Christmas gifts online only takes the hassle out of the crowded shopping part. You still need to decide what you are buying your friends and relatives for Christmas.

One of the best type of present is a personalized Christmas gift. It shows that you have put some thought into the gift process – after all, if you’ve gone to the trouble of getting a personalized present for someone for Christmas, you can’t have just popped into the local mall on Christmas Eve, can you?

Buying your personalized presents online can be remarkably simple. Most sites that offer to personalize your gifts will give you a few extra boxes to complete when you place your order. Once you’ve done that, everything else is taken care of for you.

The only negative with buying your Xmas presents online is that you have to be slightly more organized. You can’t leave all your Christmas shopping until the day or two before the big day itself. You have to allow some extra time for the delivery company to get your choice of present delivered. So long as you can make this small shift in your thinking, once you turn to buying your Christmas presents online I think you’ll keep doing so.

What Kind of Presenter Are You – Keynoter, Panelist, Team Presenter?

An engaging and passionate presenter, Cathy was working overtime in an attempt to coordinate with her fellow panelists on a high-stakes presentation at the UN. She thought it was important that everyone was on the same page, and was surprised when the other speakers didn’t feel the need to touch base prior to the event.

Baffled, and stuck in the no-progress zone, she asked my advice. Before pursuing her fellow panelists, I told Cathy that her first stop should be her client.

When you are invited to speak, it’s important to understand exactly what you are being asked to do. Understanding your client’s expectation is the first step to understanding your role and expectations. Cathy was meeting resistance from her fellow panelists, possibly because they each had differing views of the event. Such confusion could be easily cleared up by the client.

How presentation types differ

In most cases, speakers in high-stakes situations are asked to deliver one of three types of presentations:

* Keynotes deal with the big picture. They usually reinforce the overarching event theme by summarizing the core message or most important revelation of the event. Picture Steve Jobs presenting at the annual Macworld conference – that’s a keynote. As a keynote speaker, your role is to convey personal opinions, facts and experiences that reinforce the core message of the event.

* Team presentations are made by a group of people speaking on the same or similar topic. Here is where a unified message is expected, requiring presenters to coordinate in advance to ensure success. One example might be a leadership conference during which several speakers have been asked to share their success stories. While each presenter would convey his or her unique experience, all would connect back to the main theme of the conference.

* Panel discussions are all about diversity. They are usually assembled for the express purpose of presenting different points of view rather than consensus. Because there’s no need for panelists to be “on the same page,” participants generally don’t coordinate their remarks in advance. This could be why none of Cathy’s fellow panelists felt the need to share their thoughts with her.

In many cases (including Cathy’s) it comes down an issue of terminology. Could someone be using the phrase “team presentation” when they really mean “panel discussion”?

When someone asks you to speak, avoid misconceptions from the start by asking them about the desired outcome. “Are you looking for reinforcement of your event theme, or a diversity of viewpoints?”

When it comes to coordination with fellow speakers, let the type of presentation be your guide and you’ll virtually guarantee a successful outcome for your audience.

Buying Gifts and Presents Cheap – How Do You Shop for Them?

End of year is always the time for giving new presents as a tradition for coming holidays. There are always a lot of different kinds of gifts you can give according to your needs. If you are making a present to a member of the family then you may be wanting to give something more personal, like a watch or laptop. If it is a casual acquaintance then you can get away with a basic present, for example an iPod or a game.

You always want to review and search for the best discounts online and see what is fashionable for the coming holiday season, a new model of shoes, maybe? Or hiking boots? There are almost always certain gifts that are popular, like electronics, and finding the right gift to give will make you the celebrity of the party.

Buying good electronics is almost always a right choice to go with as everyone loves these iPhones, iPads etc. Whether you are in the market for a mobile phone or a new LCD TV you can always be sure that this type of present is going to be appreciated.

If you shop offline, always look for discount coupons before leaving shopping for presents. You will be very surprised that there are tons of free coupons that will help you to save a fair bit of money buying gifts this year.

Buy a right gift for the person you are purchasing it for. Don’t buy a notebook for a 3-5 year old or a toy for 10 year old. Be careful about what you are buying and make sure you know what this person likes. It will help you to find the right gift for him or her.

Remember that doing that shopping for Thanksgiving or Christmas gifts can be very much fun and excitement. You do want to save money anywhere you can so make absolutely sure you always check for free shipping offers and coupon options when looking for great deals both online and offline.
